||Ronald Earl King (Ronnie) was born March 17, !959 in Meridian, Mississippi the 2nd of 4 children and only son of Earl J. and Deloris (Dean) King. In Meridian, Earl worked for a glass company and owned a small family farm. In 1964 my Dad sold the family farm and moved to Jackson, AL where he was the owner of Jackson Glass Co. He started another small farm where Ronnie, at the age of 6, had the job of caring for the livestock. ¨I have helped my father with his cattle all my life and still do. In 1986, I bought a small piece of land and in 1991, I started a goat farm. In 1995, I sold all my goats and bought my 1st Senepol from my Dad. I have been raising pureblood Senepol ever since. They are a wonderful breed that works well on my small family farm. I also enjoy promoting and encouraging others to use the Senepol breed. I have a wife, Teresa and 2 daughters, Erin-25 and Avery-20 that I love very much. ¨
This year a small group of Senepol breeders in the US formed an association to promote the Senepol breed and its benefits in the United States. I am the President of the Senepol Cattle Association USA and we currently have approximately 14 members and several more that have expressed an interest in the association.
